Use one iPhone as the Camera and, optionally, a second iPhone as the Remote.
VolleyCam can remember commonly used team names and tournament names to reduce repeated typing during tournaments. Select a recalled value or enter a new one. Verify the current teams before recording.
The team-color palette contains ten choices. Existing saved team-color selections retain their intended values.
The live scoreboard can show team names, team colors, scores, set number, serve indicator, and elapsed recording time. When scoreboard burn-in is enabled, the same match context is rendered into the saved video.
Turn the scoreboard off before recording when you want clean footage without an overlay. When disabled, the saved video should contain neither the scoreboard nor its timer.
The large Home and Opponent score regions are designed for vertical swipe control. The intended mapping is:

A success haptic should occur only after the Camera confirms the authoritative score update. A disconnected or rejected command should not produce a success pattern.
Use the Heart control to mark important rallies while they happen.
Camera View is a snapshot request, not a continuous recording-time video stream.
While recording in the applicable tripod/full-match workflow, VolleyCam monitors device orientation for an estimated framing shift of more than approximately two percent horizontally or vertically.
VolleyCam is designed to preserve source frame rate, video orientation, and audio in exported rally clips. The applicable scoreboard context is retained when scoreboard export is enabled.
VolleyCam may use meaningful names and descriptions based on match information such as team names, tournament name, set, rally timing, scores, and favorite status. Metadata helps identify footage without searching through anonymous files.

No. You can record locally using Camera mode on one iPhone. A second iPhone adds the Remote workflow for courtside recording control, scorekeeping, previews, Heart tagging, and displacement warnings.
The core recording and Camera-to-Remote workflow is local and does not require uploading match video or creating a VolleyCam cloud account. Device-to-device performance can still be affected by the local radio environment.
No. VolleyCam records locally and saves video to the user’s device and Apple Photos when requested. VolleyCam does not operate a developer cloud service for uploading match footage.
No. VolleyCam does not add a promotional watermark to your footage.
This protects recording performance and Remote responsiveness. During recording, use Camera View for a single current snapshot. Automatic preview resumes after recording stops.
The Camera orientation changed enough to suggest a meaningful framing shift while recording. Review the automatic preview, adjust the tripod if needed, request another preview, and set a new baseline only after the Camera is stable.
No. The warning is based on device motion and orientation. A pure lateral translation that changes the view without changing phone orientation may not be reliably detected.
Dismiss closes the current warning. It does not intentionally set a new baseline and should not prevent a later distinct Camera movement from creating another warning.
No. VolleyCam does not provide Lock Screen score or recording controls. Keep the Remote app active when reliable scorekeeping, Camera control, and warnings are required.
Voice scoring and IMU-based scoring are not included in VolleyCam 1.0. Score changes use the visible Remote controls and swipe regions.
Yes. Open Settings → YouTube Live Streaming and either sign in with YouTube to select or create a broadcast, or use the manual RTMPS fallback. Camera Mode owns the stream; a paired Remote can request Start or Stop and displays the Camera’s authoritative live state and health.
Local recording and livestreaming are independent. Pausing or resuming the local recording never pauses, restarts, or disconnects an active livestream.
Commercial or broader multi-device synchronization is not part of the production Version 1.0 experience. The ordinary two-device Camera and Remote workflow remains available.
No. Player tracking, jersey recognition, and automatic AI highlight creation are not included in Version 1.0. VolleyCam uses intentional Heart tags, Match Browser review, trimming, and export.
High-resolution, high-frame-rate volleyball video requires significant storage. VolleyCam is designed to preserve media quality rather than heavily recompressing every export.
No. Tips are entirely voluntary and do not change the app’s capabilities.
VolleyCam does not operate advertising, analytics, tracking, or media servers. Core match information and media remain on the user’s devices unless the user chooses to save or share them. Optional YouTube Live sends the selected live video/audio and broadcast information directly to Google/YouTube.
For support, provide enough detail to reproduce the issue without including private match footage or personal information unless specifically requested.
Users are responsible for following venue rules and obtaining any permission required before recording or sharing video, especially footage containing minors.
VolleyCam does not operate advertising, analytics, tracking, or media servers. Recordings, scores, match metadata, team names, tournament names, and Heart tags remain on the user’s devices unless the user deliberately saves or shares them. When YouTube Live is selected, the live video/audio, scoreboard content, broadcast details, and selected channel information are sent directly to Google/YouTube to provide the broadcast.
Optional tips are processed by Apple. VolleyCam does not store payment-card information.
